Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

These Rice Krispie treats, pictured below, are a fun variation of an old classic. You'll need:

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 9 cups mini marshmallows
  • 10 cups chocolate Rice Krispies
  • 2 cups candy corn
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • assorted candy pumpkins

Mix the cereal, candy corn, and chocolate chips in a large bowl. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the marshmallows until uniform. Pour the marshmallow mixture over the cereal, stirring with a buttered wooden spoon to coat. Using buttered hands, spread the mixture on a large greased 9x13" pan or baking sheet, pressing flat. Press candy pumpkins (or extra candy corn, if preferred) spaced about 1 1/2" apart. Cool and cut into squares.

Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

Use the same ingredients as plain Rice Krispies treats, but with a few alterations to make the treats look like pieces of candy corn. You'll need:

  • 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • few drops orange food coloring (optional)
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies
  • melted white and milk chocolate

Melt together the butter and marshmallows until smooth, adding orange food coloring if desired. Stir in the cereal and press flat in a 9x13" pan. Cool and cut into triangles, dipping the tip in melted white chocolate and the fat end in melted dark chocolate. Lay on a piece of wax paper to dry.

Halloween Shapes Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

Those Halloween cookie cutters don't have to be for just cookies. Gather up all the Halloween or fall themed cookie cutters in the house, along with:

  • 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies
  • melted white chocolate
  • cake frosting

In a large saucepan stir and melt butter and marshmallows, stirring them into the Rice Krispies cereal. Press with buttered hands into a baking sheet. Once cooled, cut into Halloween shapes with the cookie cutters. Dip shapes completely in white chocolate and lay them on wax paper to dry. Use a specialty cake froster with a decorating tip to outline and add details to each Rice Krispie treat.

Halloween is one holiday that revolves around tasty treats, so it's easy to get carried away making themed goodies. But these three Rice Crispie treats recipes are cheap, quick, and easy ways to have yummy fall snacks on hand.
